En organisant le 1er Concours international pour mandoline solo, l’Ensemble à Plectre d’Esch-sur-Alzette offre aux mélomanes et au public de la Grande Région la possibilité de vivre et de partager le talent de mandolinistes venant de tous les coins du monde.

Ce concours sera le premier en son genre organisé au Luxembourg et à Esch-sur-Alzette en particulier, et aura comme vocation de faciliter les échanges entre musiciens et sera organisé dans le cadre du traditionnel « Rendez-vous mandolines et guitares ». En offrant à des jeunes talents une occasion de se produire devant un jury et d’obtenir une évaluation de leur cheminement musical par un jury d’experts favorisera auprès des candidats la persévérance dans l’apprentissage ainsi que la quête de l’excellence dans l’exécution et reconnaîtra le talent des jeunes.

The 1^st International Solo-Mandolin Competition Luxembourg is organised by the Ensemble à Plectre from Esch-sur-Alzette and offers its audience an extraordinary occasion to discover exceptionally talented mandolin players from all over the world.

It is the first time that a Competition of this kind of importance takes place in Luxembourg and in Esch-sur-Alzette in particular, where it will be organised during the traditional “Rendez-vous mandolines et guitares”. By offering young talented mandolin players the opportunity to play before an international jury, it serves as a platform for musical excellence. It aims to develop the performing skills of the musicians and to improve their musical standards.

Séjour/Accomodation Accueil/Home

Pendant la durée du concours, les candidats peuvent être hébergés auprès de familles d’accueil dans la region. Veuillez contacter l’organisation (maudy.schaeffer@internet.lu) si vous voulez bénéficier de cette formule de séjour. Dû au nombre limité de familles d’accueil disponibles, l’organisation ne peut garantir le séjour dans une famille pour chaque candidat.
Over the course of the Competition period, candidates will be offered accommodation with volunteer host families in the area. If you want to stay with a host family, please contact the organization (maudy.schaeffer@internet.lu). The number of host families is limited and the organization cannot guarantee the stay with a host family for each candidate.

Hôtel Acacia

L’hôtel se trouve à 10 minutes à pied du Conservatoire et à 5 minutes de la gare. En réservant par l’organisation du concours (maudy.schaeffer@internet.lu) vous pourrez éventuellement bénéficier d’un rabais dans cet hôtel.
The Acacia Hotel is only a 10 minutes’ walk away from the Conservatory and a 5 minutes’ walk from the train station. If you choose to stay at this hotel, you may benefit from a discount when booking through Organization officials (maudy.schaeffer@internet.lu).

Hôtel Mercure

L’hôtel Mercure se trouve au centre-ville d’Esch-sur-Alzette, à 20 minutes à pied du Conservatoire et à 5 minutes de la gare.
Ideally situated in the centre of the town of Esch/Alzette, the Mercure Hotel is a 20 minutes’ walk away from the Conservatory and a 5 minutes’ walk from the train station.

Hôtel Ibis

L’hôtel Ibis (ouverture en mars 2011) se trouve dans le nouveau quartier d’Esch-Belval et à 5 minutes de train (coût 1,50€) du centre-ville d’Esch-sur-Alzette.
The Ibis Hotel (opening March 2011) is situated in the new district of Esch/Belval and only a 5 minutes’ train ride (cost: 1,50 €) away from the centre of Esch/Alzette.

Youth Hostel Luxembourg

L’auberge de jeunesse de Luxembourg se trouve à côté des quartiers historiques et pittoresques de Luxembourg-ville. L’auberge se trouve à 3 km de la gare de Luxembourg-ville (env. 10 minutes en bus). Le trajet en train de Luxembourg-ville à Esch-sur-Alzette prend 20 minutes (coût : 1,50 €).
The Youth Hostel in Luxembourg City is located near the centre of the historical part of Luxembourg City. Please note that it is 3 km away from the train station in Luxembourg City (approx. 10 minutes by bus). The train ride from Luxembourg to Esch/Alzette takes 20 minutes (cost 1,50 €).
